A Bulldog and A Tiger Get Into A Fight, Who Wins??

The Memphis Tigers are looking to remain undefeated at home as they defend their homecourt against the Samford Bulldogs.  Tigers keep it close during the first half  and even lead a few times.

Samford switches from a man coverage to zone defense.  This frustrates the Tigers into turnovers and several non scoring trips down the court.  The Bulldogs lead The Tigers 41-32 at halftime.

Kyvon Davenport, who has emerged as a leader on the team, led the team in scoring with 17 points.  Jeremiah Martin (15) also scored in double figures.  Jamal Johnson scored six points in the game, none more important than his final game winning three points of the game that ended up tying and giving the Tigers the lead.

Samford head coach Scott Padgett played for Tubby Smith at Kentucky. Padgett was a member of the 1998 NCAA title team.  Padgett can be seen in the tweet below reminding a Tiger fan about said ring.

With this victory the Tigers improve to 5-2 and remain undefeated at home.

The Tigers are back in action Saturday at the Fed Ex Forum when they look to remain undefeated at home against Bryant University.  The 1-7 Bryant Bulldogs play the 8-1 Albany Great Danes on Wednesday.  The Great Danes will be in Memphis on Dec. 12 for their chance at the Tigers.
