Bruins and Tigers prepare for a showdown.

The University of Memphis should except thousands to fill up the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium this Saturday to witness the “showcase game” between UCLA Bruins and the home team Memphis Tigers.

Ticket sale person Jennifer Walker who works in the athletic department believes over 20,000 people will attend the game. “This is one of the most anticipated games this year for our team. We haven’t played UCLA in over a decade and many spectators are wanting a win from the football team” said Walker.

The game is also receiving national attention because it will be televised at 11 am on ABC network.

The Tigers are eager to get back on the field.  They haven’t played a game since their 37-29 victory over the University of Louisiana @ Monroe Warhawks two weeks ago.  Last week’s game against UCF was cancelled, and has since been rescheduled for 9/30, due to Hurricane Irma.  The UCF game has now been rescheduled for 9/30 replacing the non-conference game against Georgia State.

Some of the main factors to watch for in Saturday’s game are: Memphis running backs Patrick Taylor and Darrell Henderson.

Both players stood out in the Tigers first home game against the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Henderson lead with rushing 169 yards with two touchdowns while Taylor rushed 131 yards with one touchdown.

The Tigers will have a national spotlight on them for the first time this season and plan on showing footballs fans what the Memphis Tigers Football Team will offer this year.

For those that plan on attending the game, don’t forget about the recently implemented clear bag policy.
