Grizzlies Barely Beat Celtics

CELTICS-98 VS GRIZZLIES-101

For the second straight game Mike Conley and Courtney Lee are out.  Tony Allen and Mario Chalmers get the start.  Elliott Williams continues his 10-day contract with the Grizzlies.  Randolph continues to come off the bench.  T.A. earned a ring with the Celtics before starting his journey with the Memphis Grizzlies.  We are relying on that championship experience to bring a championship to the Bluff City.

Tony Allen picks up right where he left off.  He knicks down a three pointer as the shot clock expires in the first minute of the game.  From there the Grizzlies fall to a 19-4 deficit.  Matt Barnes snaps the 1st quarter slump with six straight points, two fast break layups and 2/2 from the charity stripe.  The grizzlies end the 1st quarter down 34-16.

Vince Carter  opens the 2nd quarter making his first three point attempt out his last 12.  A few possessions later he blocks 2 back to back shots.  Randolph scores 10 points in the 2nd quarter.

The crowd erupts in the fourth quarter when Vince Carter goes baseline and dunks.  The following play Mr.1st team steals the ball and breaks away for the dunk.  The crowd gets louder.  With just under five minutes left in the game Marc Gasol knocks down a jumper the brings the Grizzlies within one point, 82-83.  Grizzlies regain the lead when Gasol gets fouled, makes the shot, and the free throw, 84-83.

The Grizzlies come back from being down by 21 to win by three points, 98-101.  Zach Randolph finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds including a perfect 8/8 from the free throw line. T.A did T.A things  registering a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Isaiah Thomas sinks a three pointer that would have sent the game into overtime. Good thing for us is that time expired just before he released the ball.

The Grizzlies play game three of their six game home stand on Tuesday against the Houston Rockets.  Click here for tickets to the game or dial 901-888-HOOP ( 4667).
