No official score was kept. For the first series (10 plays), Melrose held central to mid field. The Golden Wildcats wasted no time finding the end zone, scoring a touchdown on their first offensive possession. Both teams held their own early in the game. As fatigue began to sit in, players began slipping through the cracks on both sides of the ball.
