The University of Memphis Tigers football season is over and the accolades are still rolling in. The Tigers won their way to their first Bowl Game since the D’Angelo Williams era. On December 22, 2014 the University of Memphis Tigers defeated Brigham Young University. During that game Tigers Quarterback Paxton Lynch had a record setting game.
Jackson Dillon was named to NFL.com’s 2014-15 All-Bowl Team posted by the site’s College Football 24/7 writer Mike Huguenin. Dillon had a career-high 11 tackles including two quarterback sacks and three tackles for lost yardage in the Miami Beach Bowl

Paxton Lynch was named one of the top ten performers of the bowl season by NFL.com. He threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 38 yards scoring three more touchdowns.

University of Memphis linebacker Tank Jakes has been selected to play in Saturday’s 2015 Medal of Honor Bowl. Jakes is the American Athletic Conference’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Tank helped the Tigers win a share of the American title, a Miami Beach Bowl championship and a 10-3 overall record. Jakes was the Tigers’s leading tackler seven times during the season.

This season, Jakes was named to CBSSports.com’s Midseason All-America Second Team. He finished his career at Memphis by being named the John Bramlett Defensive Player of the Year, Memphis’ defensive MVP award.

University of Memphis offensive lineman Al Bond has committed to play in the 2015 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
At 6-4, 305 pounds, Bond was an American Athletic Conference First Team selection in 2014. He started all 13 games of his senior season at right tackle, playing 895 of 1,012 offensive snaps for the Tigers during the year, including every snap in 10 of 13 games.

The Tigers have championed the hashtag #WailTilThisYear. We’ve waited and they have made us proud. Now I can’t wait until next year.
