REBELS REIGN OVER TIGERS CONTINUES

It’s Saturday afternoon, it’s raining in Oxford.  The Pavilion is full of Ole Miss fans wearing Rebel Red, but there are some True Blue Tiger fans that traveled to support the team.

Dedric Lawson said that he really wanted to beat Ole  Miss in basketball “Because they (Ole Miss) beat us (U of Memphis) in football.”   Lawson and the Tigers will have to live with the agony of defeat from the Ole Miss Rebels until they meet again. After trailing by ten points at halftime (37-47), the Tigers battled back to gain the led 66-63 in the second half with 7:03 after some adjustments, but ended up going scoreless for 5 minutes. Which led to a 77 to 85 loss to Ole Miss.

Dedric and KJ Lawson were both plagued with foul trouble.  Dedric picked up some early fouls that limited him to 22 minutes shooting 3-6 from the free throw line.  In 34 minutes of playing time KJ Lawson made it to the free throw line of  zero times.  For what seemed to be an amateur wrestling match in the paint at times its confusing how one wouldn’t get to the free throw line AT ALL.

Number 11 Saiz said that Ole miss needed this win bouncing back off of a loss to MTSU.  He used his size and rebounding to give Ole Miss lots of second looks and a W.

The Tigers are back in action on Dec.10 when they host The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
