Grizzlies vs Thunder

Grizzlies improve to 9-1, against the Oaklahoma Thunder, since acquiring Jeff Green in front of their ninth sell out crowd this season. Grizzlies won the first meeting of the season but Durant and Westbrook did not play. Vince Carter does don’t play due left foot tendon injury. Mike Conley is back after missing last two games with left wrist injury.

Kevin Durnt has missed the previous two games with a sprained big toe. Durant and Westbrook both end the game shooting 5/16 from the field. It’s going to take more than that to beat the Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis’ tenacious defense caused 18 Oaklahoma turnovers. 11 of the those were in the second half. The Thunder only shot 35% from the field. The Grizzlies didn’t shoot much better at 37%.

Only three Grizzlies scored in double figures. Conley scores ten points in the first quarter as the Grizzlies lead 25-10 to end the quarter. Zach Randolph finishes the game with 21 points and 18 rebounds. The All Star Marc Gasol added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Randolph had 14 points and three rebounds in the third, and when Memphis rattled off an 11-2 run opening the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies’ lead had reached its largest of the night and never shrunk to fewer than 11 the rest of the way.

The Grizzlies next game is Monday against the Phoenix Suns.
