Grizzlies 109 – Mavericks 90

For the second straight game Tony Allen will not play due to a sprained left ankle. Mike Conley dresses out but will not play with a sprained left wrist. The two teams have split the season series so far. The final two games of the series are in Dallas. Nick Calathes and Chandler Parsons were high school teammates but tonight they face off against each other.

In the final seconds of the first quarter Calathes steals the in-bounds pass and makes a layup to tie the game at 24 to end the first quarter.

Jordan Adams gets some playing time in the second quarter. Adams finished the game with 5 points, one rebound and one steal. After being down by seven in the first quarter the Grizzlies go into halftime with a ten point lead.

Zach Randolph finished 10 of 15 from the field, scoring 22 points and snagging ten rebounds. This was Randolph’s tenth straight double double since returning from missing nine games with a bruised knee. Vince Carter had a decent game with 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Calathes finishes the game with 13 points in just over 27 minutes on the court. He also grabbed six rebounds two assists, and two steals. Let’s not forget Marc Gasol with his 15 points, 4 rebounds, and six assists.

The Dallas Mavericks suffered from a poor shooting night, 27% from three point range compared to the Grizzlies 48%. The Mavericks only shot 49% from the field. The Grizzlies topped them with 53%. The Grizzlies forced 14 Maverick turnovers in the first half.

The Grizzlies next game is Thursday against the Denver Nuggets.
