Too Close for Comfort

Due to minor infraction Sophomore Austin Nichols will not start but he definitely will play. This game is a homecoming for Pookie Powell, He is from Orlando.
Tigers jump out to an early 20-5 lead. Austin Nichols comes in game at 12:55. Once Nichols comes in Tigers lead decreases to 27-16 at 7:29 mark. Austin Nichols does not score his first two points of the game until the 3:54 mark in the first half.

Knights fightback to only trail 31-28 at halftime.

Tigers come out roaring in the second half on a 9-1 run. To continue this scoring streak Nichols gets a pair of back to back fast break dunks.

With 3.4 second left int the game Kedren Johnson lets the ball roll up the court but doesn’t touch it to keep the clock from starting. UCF sophomore dives for the ball and knocks it away from Johnson, gains possession and calla timeout with 1.5 seconds left on the clock. The game is tied at 59 when UCF misses a last second three pointer to send the game to overtime.

In overtime the Tigers outscore the Knights 16-6. Austin Nichols finishes the game with 22 points despite only scoring 2 points in the first half. The Tigers win the game by a score of 75-65.
