Grizzlies beat up on the Clippers

Sunday night the Grizzlies put their 21 game home winning streak on the line against the Los Angeles Clippers.  The Clippers never really stood a chance at victory.  They lead the game 5 -4 early in the first quarter.  Mike Conley drained a three pointer to give the Grizz a 7-5 lead, and that was the last time the Clippers had a lead.  Tony Allen has recovered from the stomach bug that has recently plagued the team.  In front of more than 18,000 fans, the Grizzlies let the Clippers know that We Don’t Bluff.

The Grizzlies put forth a solid team effort with six players scoring in double figures.  The Big Spaniard let the team with 30 points and 12 rebounds.  Randolph was just short of another double double with ten points and eight rebounds.  Tony Allen and Courtney Lee combined for 25 points.  Udrih and Pondexter chipped in big off the bench with 11 points each.  The Grizzlies out rebounded the Clippers 52-32.

Zach Randolph held Blake Griffin to only 12 points.  Courtney Lee made three 3-pointers, and each time the Grindhouse erupted.  Every time the ref made a bad call, the crowd booed.  Every time a Clipper stepped to the free throw line, fans from every section were yelling  distracting comments at the shooter (as if they could really be heard).  When Mike Conley crossed over a defender, drove to the basket, and made  reverse layup the crowd went crazy.    Every time a Clipper missed a shot the crowd cheered.  No matter what, Grizzlies fans had a lot to cheer about tonight.

The Grizzlies next game is on the 26th in LA against the Lakers.  Their next hom game is December fifth against the Spurs.
