Friday night the Steph Curry and the Golden State Warrior came to Memphis and shot the Grizzlies’ lights out.  Golden State’s 107-84 victory over Memphis was the teams 25th road win in a row.

Four Grizzlies scored in double figures.  Mike Conley and Jeff Green combined for 32 points, scoring 16 each.  Marc Gasol scored 13 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, passed for three assists.  Zach Randolph contributed another ten points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Mike Conley came out strong scoring 16 points in the first half, but he did not score at all in the second half.

Marc Gasol on teams recent struggles:

“They are talented teams and they are doing to make some tough shots.  You expect that but you can’t let that throw you off your game, you’ve got to keep playing  and grind it out.  Just because they make some tough shots you can’t blow off your scheme and say I’m going to do this now.  You’ve got to believe in what you work on.  You win as a team and you lose as a team.  We’ve got a plan and we’ve got to execute it and when you don’t things get tougher.  After back to back 20 point losses teams confidence is not where it needs to be going into San Antonio on Sunday. There is only one way out and that is to do it as a team.”

Only three Warriors scored in double figures.  The hot handed Steph Curry had a huge third quarter scoring 17 of his 38 points.  That was enough to give the Warriors a twenty point advantage.  Warrior outscored the Grizzlies 31-16 in the third quarter.  Not only did Curry lead the game in scoring, he also led the game with ten assists.  Klay Thompson scored 28 points and Draymond Green scored ten points.  Former Memphis Grizzlie Marreese Speights registered two points and one rebound in just over five minutes of playing time.

Although the Grizzlies (45%) shot a higher field goal percentage than the Warriors  (43%), it was the three point shooting that made the difference in the game.  The Warriors out shot the Grizzlies 52% to 39%.  Another noticeable line on the box score was the assist column, Golden State 28 – Memphis 19.

The Grizzlies next contest is Sunday night in San Antonio to take on the 46-26 Spurs.  The team is back in action on their home court Monday night as they host the 26-46 Sacramento Kings.
