Grizzlies Don’t Bluff Against The Pistons

PISTONS 101 VS GRIZZLIES 103

The last time the Pistons and Grizzlies squared off the Grizzlies stole the victory in Detroit with Matt Barnes last second shot that wasn’t so last second.  There was still time on the clock after the shot went in.  Barnes is listed as probable, before Thursday’s game, due to a bruised thumb.  Mike Conley continues to rest his sore achilles.  When asked about a time table for Conley’s return, Coach Joerger said that more information would be available on Friday after Conley met with team doctors.

The Grizzlies were outscored 24-21 in the fourth quarter.  They redeemed themselves in the 2nd quarter by outscoring the Pistons 27-19.  The third quarter slump did not plague the team as much tonight. After three quarters the Grizzlies lead the Pistons by a score 0f 79-71, that’s right the Grizz outscored the Pistons 31-28 in the 3rd.

During the fourth quarter the Grizzlies let the lead slip away.  The Grizzlies were down 98-101.  Then Mario Chalmers gets ouled on a three point attempt, and makes all three throws.  With the game tied at 101 Super Grizz Mario Chalmers drains a jumper with :08 seconds left on the clock.  Grizz fans go crazy and the Pistons and their fans are in disbelief.  They can’t believe that they have lost both games to the Grizzlies this season to last second prayers that were answered by the basketball gods.

The Grizzlies next game is Saturday when the New York Knicks come to town.  That’s right the Derek Fisher coached New York Knicks will be in town.  Matt Barnes said all he had to say about the incident 9n a New Years Instagram post.  He declined to make any more comments about the incident after Thursday nights victory over the Detroit Pistons.
