WEEK 9: Melrose @ Bolivar

Bolivar Central – 13  VS  Melrose 38

Friday night was a battle between two 4-3 teams, The Melrose Golden Wildcats and The Bolivar Central Tigers.  A win in this game helps ensure that they can play in the post season.

Starsky Miller outscored the Bolivar Central Tigers all by his lonesome.  It takes more than one Tiger to bring Miller down.  Time after time Miller would  get the ball and several Toger defenders would try to bring him down and he would  carry them anf the ball for a few more yards.  He scored 4 touchdowns and successfully completed the two point conversion on each.

Adhai Paige, who was been sidelined with a broken wrist, returned to action with limited minutes.  DaQuan Dallas, who has been filling in for Paige while he was out, took the majority of the snaps from the center.  Running Back Michael Malone is still out nursing his ankle.  Kendrick Jones is out for the second week in a row after injuring his knee against the East Mustangs.

The  Golden Wildcats improve to #2 in Division 3A.  Melrose’s next game is Friday night against Ridgeway at Halle Stadium.
