It wasn’t everything we hoped for , but we got what we needed ( a win). It started raining around lunch time, and it never stopped.

Due to the rain , The Tigers were forced to rely on an effective ground game in order to move the ball. Darrell Henderson( 169) and Patrick Taylor (132) led the Tigers 319 yard rushing effort. The Tigers only passed 97 yards. Riley Ferguson completed 10/25 passes with only one interception later in the game.

Along with these players leaving the game due to injury, Johnathan Wilson was ejected in the fourth quarter for targeting.

Robert Irwin Jewelers ran a contest earlier in the month for anyone that purchased jewelry during a certain time period would get a refund of their purchase if the Tigers returned the opening kickoff of the half for a touchdown. Ashley Furniture has run a similar contest for the past several years, rewarding customers with Free Furniture if The Tiger Basketball team won the NCAA championship. Ashleys Furniture never had to pay up so who would think that Robert Irwin Jewelers would have to pay up. Next weekend the Tigers begin Conference Play when they visit University of Central Florida. While the Tigers are in Orlando, The 28th Annual Southern Heritage Classic will take place at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. The Tigers return the Liberty Bowl on 9/16 ro host UCLA.
