Last Tiger Basketball Game of 2014

IMG_0267The last Tiger Game of 2014 was also the first conference game for The University of Memphis Tigers and The Houston Cougars with 13,415 in attendance. Starting off the Tigers went scoreless as number #0 for Houston scored 2 three point buckets. The Tigers fought back and kept the score pretty close during the first half. Outstanding play by #20 Avery Woodson (Guard) and #4 Austin Nichols (Forward) kept the tigers in the game and sent the Tigers into the second half with a 2point lead of 37-35. Memphis opened up the second half outscoring Houston 18-1 making the score 55-36 and the Tigers led by double digits for remainder of the game. Trahson Burrell (Forward), D’Marnier Cunningham (Guard), and Calvin Godfrey (Forward) showed up making some big plays during the game while bringing the “Old Style Tiger Basketball” back defeating Houston with a final score of 54-73. The Tigers improved to 8-4 in the NCAA and 1-0 in the American Conference records. We also caught Bobby McCain #21(DB) for the Memphis Tigers Football Team at the game and he agreed that the Tigers are beginning to gel and are looking good this season.
