Tony Allen is suspended from Tuesday nights game for having a physical confrontation with Nick Calathes.  Zach Randolph did not play because he was sick. The Jazz took advantage of the short handed Grizz to get the 93-82 victory in the Fed Ex Forum.

The Grizzlies only had four players in double figures.  Courtney Lee was the Grizz leading scorer with 18 points and five rebounds.  Marc Gasol was right behind him with 17 points, and eight reboounds.  Jordan Adams scored 13 points and Mike Conley scored 11.

The Grizzlies shot a below average 40% from the field and 27% from three point territory.  Kosta Kufous only scored six points shooting 3-10 from the filed and 0-2 from the free throw line.

Courtney Lee had these thoughts about the game: “Shots weren’t falling. That can never be the case. We can’t lose it that way. Our offense should never leave our defense out to dry. All defense takes is effort. We just had some mental mistakes and we weren’t able to get stops.”

“I just tried to bring energy; come out and be a spark. I had fresh legs. I just wanted to be all over the place on defense and make the right plays on offense.” says Jordan Adams.  “I thought he was good. He made plays, made shots, and was even more impressed with some of the disruption things he did defensively using his hands, his length, bothering the basketball. He gets around the basketball and he got his hands on a lot of balls. He didn’t get a rebound, but I thought by-and-large he was pretty good.” Coach Joerger says of Jordan Adams.

Coach Joeger also spoke on the teams mid season performance:”We catch teams at different points in the season that are struggling or tired or whatnot. We shouldn’t have been tired. A matter of fact, our spirit was good, our chemistry was good, the guys played for each other, they played hard but just didn’t get the result that we wanted.”

The Grizzlies next game is Wednesday night in Houston against the Rockets.  Their next home game is Friday as they host the Lakers.
